Every athlete deserves a record of who they were before the world found out.
D Real Media creates game footage, highlight reels, and recruiting videos for high school and college programs in San Diego — built to show coaches and scouts who your athletes actually are on and off the court.
The Game is more than just the Highlights
Before a recent game, every camera in the building was pointed at warmup drills. I was watching a player sitting on the bench — a mix of confidence and anxiety in his eyes, working through something only he could feel in that moment.
That frame doesn't exist on anyone else's card.
Most sports videographers follow the ball. I move around the court before tip-off, looking for your players when they're just themselves — before the performance starts. The shoes on the bench. The handshake before opening tip. The bench erupting after a play the coach drew up at halftime. The coach's face during a timeout.
Those moments tell the full story of an athlete. Highlight-only coverage tells half of it.

Who am I
My name is Derriel. I'm the person behind D Real Media — and I've played basketball for over 20 years.
When I'm standing on your sideline before a game, I'm not observing the sport. I'm recognizing it. I know what a player looks like when they're locked in. I know what a bench feels like before a game that matters. I know where the real story is happening before the ball ever tips — and that's where I point the camera.
I'm based in San Diego and I've covered full seasons of high school basketball. Every video I deliver includes custom sound design — not a song dropped on top of the footage, but audio built to match every cut. Most clients don't know this is an option until they hear it. After that, they can't watch a generic highlight reel the same way.
D Real Media is a one-person operation. That means every game I cover, I'm the one on the sideline. Every reel you receive, I cut it.
